“My passion for the beautiful nature that surrounds me has always been my inspiration for creating colorful art. Eager to try something new, I’ve landed on printmaking! I look forward to showing you my latest organic creations!! I’d like the viewer to be curious, intrigued, and tempted to touch the art to feel the texture.” – Cindy
A collagraph print is essentially a collage of materials of various textures glued onto a printing plate, often a thin wood or cardboard. The plate is inked up, usually by hand, and then printed onto paper either manually or via a press. Cindy’s use of natural materials, such as giant sunflowers, presents nature in a beautiful two-dimensional form.
Inspired by nature’s changing seasons. From the warmth and softness of summer to the crisp welcoming deep rich tones of autumn, abstract plants, trees, and sky dominate this series. Layers of hidden materials and acrylic paint combine to create interest, shape, movement, and depth.
